Katy Perry might have stirred a lot of emotion when she appeared in Sesame Street together with Elmo, but the cast of Saturday Night Live does not care if Katy too much rack. She did such a great job that she actually got a cameo spot on The Simpsons. In the said SNL episode, Katy wore an Elmo t-shirt while shaking her thing. Entertainment Weekly has confirmed that Katy will be appearing in a Christmas special in the long-running show. The said episode will be entitled “The Fight Before Christmas” and Katy will appear as Moe, the bartender’s, girlfriend. Katy has been appearing in a good number of televisions shows. This might be great for her. She has to get ready for the Smurfs movie wherein she will be lending her voice to Smurfette. And with her album topping the charts, this is the best time for her to branch out into TV shows and movies.

We just have to ask this. What were they thinking when they invited Katy Perry to guest on Sesame Street. Katy Perry appeared on an episode of the kids’ show to perform a child-friendly version of her “Hot N Cold” song together with the show’s main character Elmo. Everything was great except for one thing – Katy showed a little more skin that what is appropriate. Although the episode has not yet aired, a clip got leaked into the internet for parents to see. Some scandalized parents lobbied to have the segment cut out of the episode. Sesame Street decided to go with that and issued a statement:

“Sesame Street has a long history of working with celebrities across all genres, including athletes, actors, musicians and artists. Sesame Street has always been written on two levels, for the child and adult. We use parodies and celebrity segments to interest adults in the show because we know that a child learns best when co-viewing with a parent or care-giver. We also value our viewer’s opinions and particularly those of parents. In light of the feedback we’ve received on the Katy Perry music video which was released on You Tube only, we have decided we will not air the segment on the television broadcast of Sesame Street, which is aimed at preschoolers. Katy Perry fans will still be able to view the video on You Tube.”

Katy Perry will be locking horns with Lady Gaga during this year’s MT V European Music Awards. The singer has been nominated for an impressive five awards. However, she has a very tough contender this year. Lady Gaga is up against her for Best Female Act, Best Video, Best Pop Act and Best Song. Although Katy has album sales on her side, her Teenage Dream is a chart topper, but Lady Gaga has momentum on her side, she just won a total of eight awards in the recently concluded MTV Video Music Awards. Lady Gaga is nominated for the Best Live Act category of the music awards. On the other hand, Katy is nominated for Best World Stage Performance. Katy is one of the artists performing in the said event and will be singing alongside Linkin Park. This year’s European Music Awards will be in Madrid on November 7. Last year’s EMAs was hosted by Katy Perry.    

All of us had an awkward moment or two when we were in high school. There were bangs and outfits that we selectively block off when trying to reminisce about the good old days. But it seems like Katy cannot let bygones go. Katy went back to her old high school, Dos Pueblos High School, last Tuesday where she took the microphone and performed a concert. Whats up now, playa?” Lopes said in an interview that “he couldn’t believe it” and says that Katy exaggerated the entire dating issue.

You know that someone is that in love when she has a picture of her boyfriend painted on her nails. And that is exactly what Katy Perry did! Katy Perry and boyfriend Russell Brand are expected to wed later this year. Katy has already thrown herself a bridal shower and even plans to apply for dual citizenship right after they tie the knot. But back to her nails. The idea may sound a little bit too cheesy for some but she could have used her long nails during the MTV Video Music Awards. She nearly bumped into her ex boyfriend, Travis McCoy while on the red carpet. Fans were chanting out her name for the Gym Class Heroes frontman to hear who later stormed off hastily while muttering, “F*** this. Katy, what? Is this a joke?” Katy drew inspiration from her breakup with the singer and even called McCoy a “joke” in one of her songs.

Katy Perry has been traversing the entire globe this summer. The singer who is currently engaged to funny man Russell Brand has been busy promoting her new album Teenage Dream. And she has been hugely successful. Her album has reached the no. 1 spot of the Billboard Hot 100 chart. After staying in Europe for the majority of the summer, Katy is back in the states and with exciting news for her fans. The singer will be appearing in the first episode of the Saturday Night Live for the season. She first hinted about the gig through her Twitter page earlier this month. Katy tweeted, “OKAY! My BIG surprise is I’m opening the season of SATURDAY NIGHT LIVE on Sept 25 W/SNL Alum Amy Poehler!!!” Her subsequent posts hinted that she might be appearing with Poehler in a skit. However, it has not been confirmed whether Katy will be acting or singing in the show.

After appearing as a guest judge the British version of the show X-Factor, Katy Perry is once again in the show but for the Italian viewers this time. Katy is busy trotting the entire globe in order to promote her new album Teenage Dream which includes her hit single California Gurls. Katy wowed her Italian fans while performing in a tight dress made of latex material. Because of her hectic schedule, Katy has had to endure separation from fiancé Russell Brand for numerous periods of time. The singer says that she adores everything that is British because she instantly associates it with her husband-to-be. She admires the frank nature of Englishmen and very much appreciates their culture. Right after her wedding, Katy wants to apply for dual citizenship so that she can easily get to the UK without having to relinquish her American citizenship. The two are set to tie the knot later this year.

Russell is English and Katy has gotten attached to the country after visiting her boyfriend and his family for a number of times. Rumors even suggest that Katy is very close to Russell’s mother, Barbara. According to a source close to the singer, she refers to her fiancé’s mother as ‘mum’ and has been introduced to the British way of living by no other than her future mother-in-law. Because of this, Katy is wants to apply for dual citizenship right after she ties the knot with Russell later this year. The singer does have some apprehensions and says that she is “not too sure if I have to take a test as I’ve not had time to look into it. But England is like my second home.”  

Katy Perry has another reason to smile. Aside from being engaged to funny man Russell Brand, Katy’s career couldn’t be any better. Her newest album ‘Teenage Dream’ just shot all the way up to the top of the Billboard 200 chart. The quirky singer managed to sell a total of 192,000 copies. Katy first got a taste of stardom after her song ‘I Kissed a Girl’ became a hit. Although Katy had a number of follow up songs, she was not able to replicate the same level of success that she garnered after the release of her first hit. Her ‘Teenage Dream’ album proves that the formula to a chart topping album includes blue hair, skimpy outfits and some sand. The most popular song to date in the album is ‘California Girls’. Katy shared that her inspiration behind the song was to outshine Alicia Key’s ‘Empire State of Mind’ which gave credit to the NYC.

After the success of her album Teenage Dream, Katy is ready to set her footprints on another field. Rumors are circulating that Russell Brand’s bride-to-be may be appearing on British television sets. Katy went on X-Factor on Saturday as a guest judge for the show. But her stint does not end there. According to sources, Katy might be given her very own ITV2 show. And there is a little admission after Zai Bennett, the channel controller went on to say:

“Katy is a target for us currently. She’s brilliant, a bullseye person. We are talking to her management about various shows.”

It is a rather safe assumption that the hypothetical show will be a reality show but Bennett is shooting that idea down as early as now.

Katy is staying silent on the show talks but is very vocal in saying that X-Factor’s Cheryl Cole will quit her job on the British show to be in the American version of the same talent contest.
